How many of you receive spam emails over your iPhone? It seems like they are increasing in number everyday. Just like with any scammer, these emails become very annoying. You didn’t even sign up for them in the first place, so why would you want to receive them? Unfortunately, blocking an email address on your Apple device isn’t as easy as it should be.

When it comes to receiving unwanted emails on the different email apps you are a part of, it can be confusing on how to block those specific emails. The easiest way to block a certain email address is to log into your account using a desktop computer because this allows you to access all of the features. However, you can follow the steps below to block an email straight from your phone.

How to Block Gmail Messages:

  1. Download the Gmail app from the App store. Once you have it downloaded, open the app and log in.
  2. Find an email from an address you wish to block and tap it.
  3. Tap the three dots at the top right-hand corner of the message.
  4. Choose “Block (sender)” from the dropdown box.

How to Block Emails Using Safari:

You can also block a certain email address by logging in to your mail provider’s website and requesting the desktop site. Once you have done that, then you can follow the instructions listed below.

iCloud: Tap “Settings” and then choose “Rules.” Tap “Add a Rule” and then create a new “If a message is from” rule for the email address you wish to block. Tap “Move to Trash and Mark as Read.”

Yahoo! Mail: Tap “Settings” and then choose “More Settings.” Tap “Security and Privacy.” Choose “Blocked addresses” and choose “+Add.”

The easiest way to block an email using your Apple device is to download the specific app dedicated to your provider. This will provide the least amount of steps to block any email you wish.
