Have you ever been a situation where you wanted to take notes, but didn’t have a pen and paper with you? This happens all too often, but luckily there’s an easy fix. All you have to do is whip out your iPhone and you are ready to go. Listed below are the top 5 ways you can use your phone to take notes!
Option 1: Instant Notes from Anywhere
Instant Notes is actually a feature of Apple Notes that’s completely hidden in your phone. It may be hard to find, but once you set it up, you will find a Notes button in your Control Center. You will then be able to simply tap on the icon to start taking notes. Follow the steps below to set it up!
Step 1: Open your “Settings” app and find “Control Center.”
Step 2: Once you are in the Control Center settings, tap “Customize Controls.” There will be a list for you so you need to choose the “Notes” option. Click the green “Plus” button next to it.
Option 2: Drafts 5
Drafts 5 allows you to jot down whatever is going through your mind at the time. It’s an easy app to download and start using. Follow the steps below to set up this app!
Step 1: Download Drafts 5 from the app store.
Step 2: Access your widget page and scroll to the bottom.
Step 3: Choose “Edit” and then hit the green “Plus” button next to “Drafts.”
Step 4: Tap “Done” to finish.
You can tap on the “Plus” icon anytime you wish to start a new note. You can even record your notes by talking when you select the “Microphone” button.
Option 3: Cheatsheet Widget
Cheatsheet is designed to help you jot down little bits of information such as phone numbers, confirmation codes, or flight numbers. This is an easy way to write out information that won’t take up space on your normal notes app. If this is something that sounds perfect for you, then you need to start by downloading the widget from the app store. Once it’s downloaded then you must enable the widget and then you can tap the “Plus” button on your phone anytime you wish to add a new note.
Option 4: Take Notes Using Siri
This is probably the quickest way you can take notes. If you enjoy talking to Siri, then this is the app for you. You can simply ask Siri to create a new note or add information to an existing one. Since Siri is context-aware, you don’t have to mention the word “Notes” each time you speak to her.
Option 5: Siri Shortcuts
If you don’t know what a Siri shortcut then allow me to explain. It is a shortcut that you create so Siri opens any note in the Notes app. Give it a specific phrase and next time you say it, Siri will open the note instantly. If this is what you need, then you first need to open the “Settings” app and go to “Siri&Search.” Then you go to “All Shortcuts” and find the “Notes” section.
