Annoying Netflix Problems and How to Fix Them

Since Netflix is the best video streaming service available, you would think that it would be almost perfect, but it does have its flaws. However, Netflix does offer easy ways to fix these little annoying problems. Once you fix them, you will have nothing to complain about.

#1. How to delete “Continue Watching”

If you watch a show or movie and stop it before the credits, then it will show up in your “Continue Watching” list. This can be annoying to some because a long list will appear if you have not watched a movie until the credits. If you want to get rid of a movie or show from that list, then go to www.netflix.com/WiViewingActivity. This is where you will see a list of all the movies and shows you have watched. To remove a movie from the list, click the X that is next to any title to remove it. To remove a TV show, simply clicking the X next to an episode will only remove that episode. To remove a series, click on the option that is shown.

#2. How to get better Netflix movie suggestions

After you finish a show or movie, you will have the option to give it a rating. Rating the shows or movies will allow Netflix to get a better understanding of what your tastes might be. To get better suggestions, you can refine the list of rating that you have. To see what Netflix suggests for you, you will go to the Recommended for You section.

#3. How to reset your account back to default

Setting your account back to default will delete everything you have watched so far. If you wish to do this, then you will have to delete your profile. To start the process, go to netflix.com/EditProfiles. Once you are there then click the profile you want to reset and click Delete Profile.

#4. How to watch Netflix in 1080p HD

One downfall of Netflix is that they only support 1080p Full HD videos on Microsoft Edge on Windows and Safari on macOS. If you have any other browser, you will have to watch on a lower quality. There is a way you can watch Netflix in Full HD if you have the wrong browser thanks to an extension. This Netflix 1080p extension for Chrome allows videos to stream in 1080p Full HD.

#5. Why Netflix shows and movies disappear

Netflix adds and removes shows and movies every month. Netflix does this because they can only acquire the rights for the titles for a specific amount of time. When the time is up, Netflix either decides to renew the rights or not. If they decide to not renew the rights, then the show or movie is removed. If you have a show or movie in your “My List” section, Netflix will give you an update if it is going to be removed soon. You can also check the “Details” section of any video to see when it expires. You can also visit the “What’s Expiring On Netflix” blog to see the entire list of shows and movies that will be removed within the next 30 days.

#6. How to share Netflix recommendations

To share Netflix recommendations, search the show or movie you wish to share.  Click on the show or movie and in the upper right-hand corner, you will see the share icon. It is next to the search icon. Tap on the icon and a list of all the apps on your phone that you can use to share the title will show up.

#7. How to reduce mobile data usage on Netflix

If you have Netflix on your smartphone, then one of the best qualities is you can watch a movie anywhere you go because you won’t need Wifi. However, this can also be a bad thing if it causes you to exceed your data limit for the month. Luckily, Netflix provides an easy way to adjust this setting so you can only watch when using Wifi. Open the Netflix app and go to the Menu. Once you are there tap App Settings, then tap Cellular Data Usage. After tapping on Cellular Data Usage, several options will pop up that you can choose from.

#8. How to skip intro titles

On some shows, Netflix offers a “Skip Intro” button, but unfortunately this is not available on every TV show and movie. One time when you are watching a show, count the intro time that you wish to skip. Once you know the time, then you can use the smart fast-forward buttons to skip through the intro.

#9. Has your account been hacked

Just like any other app that requires you to make an account, Netflix can be hacked. Thankfully there is an easy way to fix this if it happens. Go to netflix.com/ManageDevices. Once you are sign out of your account on every device that has Netflix on it. Then log back in, but choose to change your password.
