Are you thinking about selling or trading your iPhone? With all the new versions being created, it’s only a matter of time before your old iPhone no longer works. With the new creations being so expensive, it’s nice to have the option of selling or trading to have some extra money go towards that new phone. However, make sure you follow these five steps to ensure you’re getting the best bang for your buck.
#1 Find the best iPhone price or trade-in deal
Do your research! This is the best thing you can do to make sure you are getting the appropriate price for your iPhone. There are places out there that will not give you the money you deserve, that is why researching the best price or trade-in value is extremely important. One of the places you can check is Gazelle. Gazelle is a well known phone buying company. They typically offer a promotion that adds to the price you can get for your old phone. Nextworth is another company that will buy your phone. They offer great prices and will allow you to lock in a price without a commitment. eBay Quick Sale is another option. With eBay you sell your phone directly to eBay instead of a buyer.
#2 Backup your contacts
Make sure you backup your contacts before you sell or trade-in your old iPhone. The best way to backup your contacts is by using iCloud. iCloud allows you to backup your contacts on your old phone and easily transfer them to your new phone.
#3 Backup your photos
Backing up your photos is extremely important! Once you sell your phone, it is practically impossible to recover them on your new phone. Your best option is to store them on iCloud. Another option is Google Photos, but both options will aloow for easy transfer of your photos to your new phone.
#4 Unpair your Apple Watch
The easiest way to unpair your Apple Watch is to do it before you sell or trade-in your old phone. Unpairing beforehand allows for an easier time pairing it with your new phone. To unpair you Apple Watch, you must first open the Apple Watch App. Then tap on your watch name. After tapping on your watch name, tap on the “i” next to your Watch. Tap unpair and enter your password.
#5 Wipe your phone and remove iCloud
The last step you need to take before you sell or trade-in your phone is resetting it and removing iCloud. Taking this last step ensures that all of your personal information is removed from the old phone. To reset your phone you first need to open the setting app. Once you do that then go to general settings. After that then go to the reset option and choose “Erase All Content and Settings”. Enter your iTunes password to turn off Find My iPhone. Once this step is complete, you are now ready to safely sell your phone to a ready buyer.
