QR codes became popular several years ago, but then they started disappearing. Well now they are making a comeback accompanied by a new way to scan them using your camera. There may be a new way to scan them with your iPhone or Android camera, but the QR codes themselves still work the same way. When you find a square code all you have to do is open up a scanning app and allow you phone to scan the code.
Scanning a QR code with an iPhone:
When you come across a QR code you first have to open the camera app. If you have the new version of iOS 12 then a direct QR code scanner will be located in the Control Panel. The next step is positioning your iPhone so that the QR code appears in the digital viewfinder. Make sure you have the right angle and distance from the code so your phone can automatically scan it. The last step is launching the QR code. Once you have scanned the code, a notification will show up at the top of the screen saying that the QR code has been understood by your phone. If you think the QR code is safe then you can tap on the notification pop-down and it will launch the code acitivity.
Scanning a QR code with an Android:
If you have an Android phone the first thing you have to do is check to see if your Android phone supports QR code scanning. If your phone does not support them then you will need to download a QR code scanning app. The next step is opening up the app you will use to scan the QR code. Once you are into the app then you will need to choose the scanning function. After that is done then you will position the QR code correctly in the scanning window. Once the QR code is scanned then a pop-up may appear and ask if you want to take action based off the code. If you think the code is safe then you can launch the action.
