With the recent release of the new version of Google’s Gboard Minis, you can create stickers that look like you. Once you create these stickers, you can send them in text messages and any apps that support stickers. Gboard Minis allows you to create mini emotive stickers based off a selfie that you take. This may seem confusing to do, but the steps to creating these unique stickers are listed below.
Step 1: Download Gboard
To be able to create these stickers, you have to download Gboard from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Step 2: Set Gboard as your virtual keyboard
After downloading the app, you have to make Gboard your virtual keyboard to be able to access all of these features. To enable this keyboard on an Android smartphone you must first go into the device’s settings. Once you are into the settings, click on System, then on Languages and Input. After that then you must tap on the Virtual Keyboard, then tap on Manage Keyboards, and then finally turn on Gboard. For Apple users open the Settings app and then go into General Settings. From there go into the Keyboard settings and tap Keyboards. Drag Gboard to the top of the list and then press “Done”.
Step 3: Choose your app
Next, you must open an app that lets you access the keyboard, like Messages. Once you are into Messages, tap on the Emoji icon on the left-hand side of the space bar and this will open the Emoji menu. Once you are on the Emoji menu then you must tap the square-faced sticker Emoji in the middle and this will bring up another set of icons. From these icons, hit “Mini” icon at the far left of the row, and tap “create”.
Step 4: Take a selfie
Once you have chosen the app you want to use, Gboard will open the forward facing camera on your smartphone. Once the camera is open, you must align your head with the on-screen lines and take a selfie.
Step 5: Fine-tune your mini
Once you have perfected your selfie, the Gboard app will use machine learning and a database of illustrations to create your Mini lookalike. When your sticker is finished, you will have two options to choose from “Bold” and “Sweet” to choose from. Each of these options will give you over 100 stickers to choose from. After everything is completed, you will get the chance to further edit your sticker to what you want it to look like.
Step 6: Send it to everyone
Now that you have finished your sticker, you are ready to send it to your friends and family. To access your sticker in the future just simply tap the Emoji button next to the keyboard and all of the options will appear.
